WELCOME !

WELCOME to Mira's merry maze of mirrors and miscellaneous mumblings . We are mirrors for each other. Through you , I come to know myself. Without you , how can I know the places in me that are unkind and invisible ? You bring me to myself. THIS IS MAY NOT BE THE WHOLE TRUTH but it is an aspect of the truth as Miramaze continues to live simply in the rhythm of her soul.

A bottomless pit

My stomach is a bottomless pit today.
Demanding , beyond belief !
Could it be due to the nip in the air ?

First day for new woolly socks

FIrst day for new woolly socks

There's a slight nip in the air today, enough to merit wearing my new woolly socks :)
17C feels much colder when you are used to 20+C
I would post a photo, but I can't get the new editor to work - there's the spinning wheel thingy symbol that just keeps spinning and spinning and I can't be bothered to wait for it to stop.
Later... possibly ... later

Don't wake the Trolls !

Shhhhhhh don't wake the Trolls

Things are running smoothly here at BCUK :)
I got on easily
and
I have been able to comment , quickly , simply and effortlessly , without frustrating delays :)
Excuse me for a moment - my Iphone is plinging - a new sound - I suspect it is a Wordpress notification .
( find myself lost and confused in this jungle of technology ...but it ain't ' alf fun :))
So thank you Gremlins, Trolls , Angels and Fairies at BCUK and elsewhere for this happy state of affairs .
in other news , I had my 3rd rehab physiotherapy session today. My foot , the bit near my toes , is still hurting and swollen despite the exercises that I have been doing diligently and daily. My physiotherapist says that perhaps I'm doing the toe exercises too vigorously so has advised a few changes and I negotiated dropping a couple of exercises from her suggestion of adding another half dozen to my daily routine , We don't want to 'fracture' my spirit and resolve now , do we ?
We had a minor crisis last night. My son, The Prof , had a wisdom tooth extracted on Monday and the gaping hole wouldn't stop bleeding. Poor lad was suffering, pale and in pain, he was , not his usual cheerful self .
We found out through a help line number that there was a Dental Emergency Clinic near us so Mrs the Prof was able to drive the Prof there while I took care of Grandson. The people there were BRILLIANT. They anaesthetised him and stitched him up and also prescribed pain killers . BLESS. The fee for all this 750 kr ( €80 approx ) money well spent . Only a 5 minute wait too . Lucky that they had the money , Pity people who don't. What on earth do they do ? Makes you wonder. As a mamma , I am SO grateful , There is nothing worse than seeing your child suffer. The other tooth comes out next week )-o:**:U-(
All for now ....
Have a lovely BUCK blogging evening :)

Past life in Mesopotamia 2010 BC

I was born 2010 BC in Mesopotamia........ by miramaze @ Friday, 26. Jul, 2013 – 12:26:02 I was born 2010 BC in Mesopotamia, an artist and craftsman, son of the chief of a small village near the sea, On day, standing on top of the cliff looking out to sea, I am waiting and longing for the boat to come. The boat arrives and I sail away. Approaching land I can see houses or rather huts .. the whole village is on fire; people running around screaming trying to save themselves their loved ones and their possessions. A young woman runs up to me begging me to help her. Her grandmother is inside one of the huts. I run into the smoke and flames and drag out a lifeless body. Too late ; She's dead. I know that there is not time to waste. I must get out of here. Before I know what is happening the young woman and a small childare heading for the shore and my boat. As we sail away, the woman explains that The village had been attacked by raiders and had been an easy target since the men were all away somewhere. The child looks like a cherub with blond curly hair, dirty face and hands. He's sucking on something white that looks like dried fish..cuttlefish maybe. We make a bed for him in the boat with covers and sack cloth that is lying around. Night falls and we sail on and arrive back the next day. My parents and the whole village turn out to greet us, My father looks stern. my mother subserviant. He asks all sorts of questions and will not allow the woman and child to stay in the village, so we move into a cave near the shore. Days and months pass until one day she says : " It's time for you to go and follow your longing. Go where your heart tells you to go.We'll be fine. " And so it was that with a heavy heart I set out on my quest to a far off place to learn the language of signs and symbols. The streets of the town are cobbled. The houses small and white. After a while I find a place to stay. Years pass by. I've become a monk and I am now an old man with long white hair and beard. I am sitting in an stone alcove and beside me is my young apprentice. I have just told him it that the time has come for me to pass on. He is sad and has tears in his eyes. It is an emotional parting . I hand him something as a parting gift and then talking a final farewell , enter a room with a stone table in the centre. The ceiling is as high as in a cathedral and open at the top. I lie on the stone table and listen to the chanting of the monks in the room. It is a lovely send off. As I look up at the sky , my soul leaves my body and enters a crystal . Inside the crystal there is a rainbow. Everything is bright, peaceful and clear............... ( Remembered 1992 ) first posted as 'friends only ' post . I am braver now

Signs

Signs by miramaze @ Friday, 26. Jul, 2013 – 12:41:22 Signs, synchronicity , meaningful coincidences ... I do believe they are meaningful and contain hints and messages for us from a place of higher awareness. This message from the Universe arrived today . Very interesting Those little things that you alone see, Mira , aren't by chance. The sign, the squirrel, the dragonfly; the whisper, the song, the lily. It's me. I'm always with you. I'll do anything to reach you -- to give you hope, keep you on track, answer your questions. Look even closer, The Universe My encounter the other day was meaningful too. Full of hints and messages .

Enigmatic encounter on a sunny bench at Stadshuset

Had an hour long conversation with a man from Bagdad A talkative artist . He told me Saber was his name and that it meant cactus . His Swedish was not easy to understand at times , but after a while I began to see a story in the form of a collage emerging. Our conversation spanned painting , art, artists, his travels , spirituality, myth and legend He spoke ofGilgamesh , King of Uruk: "He who Saw the Deep" and of 12 mysterious tablets of wisdom, Ashtar and Mesopotamia. I kept thinking of my own incarnation ( Past life regression ) in 2010 BC in Mesopotamia. My life is full of synchronicity and meaninful coincidences. I think this was a reminder for me to start painting again. Night night all

Spontaneity , instant gratification and horror- scopes

Spontaneity and instant gratification ......

.... I value and appreciate ,spontaneity , I do
Think this is why FB is more appealing than posting a blog.
Get it off your chest and that's it - done
Here's what's been on my mind today
" HORROR-SCOPES "
"Geminis will not take any crap from anyone."

Nice. Love is one of a kind. Great listeners. Very good at confusing people. Lover not a fighter, but will still knock you out. Geminis will not take any crap from anyone. Geminis like to tell people what they should do and get offended easily. They are great at losing things and are forgetful. Geminis can be very sarcastic and childish at times and are very nosy. Trustworthy. Always happy. VERY Loud. Talkative. Outgoing. VERY FORGIVING. Loves to make out. Has a beautiful smile. Generous. Strong. f

Meeting of the 13 Grandmothers in Stockholm

The 13 Grandmothers' Gathering in Stockholm

Three of my friends are attending this gathering .One of them rang me late last night , very pleased , praising them to the heights .
" You MUST come tomorrow "
( there's that word that I'm allergic to )
" Not sure " says I " I don't feel drawn , this time. I'll sleep on it and think about it "
There was no way that I felt drawn enough to be there by 8 a.m. or pay the 500 kronor day fee.
Resistance
" But I can join you for lunch "
So it was agreed .
Woke up 10:30 this morning and with an awful lot of effort managed to get there by 12:00
When my friends emerged from the morning session in the conference room , they all had this glazed spaced- out look on their faces. It had been a powerful session and off we went to have lunch . Grounding was needed.
After lunch , there was to be a gathering around the sacred fire in the small park opposite the hotel. so I went along to see what it was all about .
Standing at the back ,I couldn't see very much . There were a few rows of people sitting at the front. It was fine for them , I suppose , but with my broken foot in a brace I could not sit on the ground .
I did get a glimpse of the sacred fire and the circle .

As I was leaving I saw these two chaps chilling out and stopped to take a picture of them , upon which a woman points out that the Grandmothers didn't permit taking of photographs.
" Oh " I said " I was just taking a picture of the dogs "
" well that's alright "  she says .
( I'd already snapped the two prevous pics . WIll I be forever dammed ? ???  )  It's best that they don't know .... and you won't tell 'em will you ? )

My rainy day

My rainy day .

Making mistakes is my higher education.
Yesterday I was telling a friend that I'd been putting a task off for several months. Imagine all the time and energy wasted
- Now tomorrow - you just go ahead and do it , says my friend
- Right. I shall do that, says I .
So I set the alarm . Alarm goes off in the morning and I snooze for another ten minutes before I can work up enough energy to drag myself out of my cosy bed.
Next , morning rituals, which now include inflating and deflating Bootsie ( foot brace ) for a snug and safe fit and after that breakfast. About two and a half hours after the alarm , I am ready to go out .
First mistake : Choosing a rainy day . It's actually raining quite heavily
Second mistake : Ruling out my new purple plastic rain poncho in favour of an ordinary jacket that had been waterproofed.
Third mistake : not waterproof enough . Very soon I am soaked to the skin.
( Can't have an umbrella as I need one had free as the other is for the crutch )
Four mistake : On arrival at my destination , I see from the notice pasted on the door that the company have moved about a mile away , Nothing for it but to hobble along , 'singing ' in the rain while muttering swear words all the way. Could they have chosen a more remote new address  ?
Fifth mistake : I am told I need not have come in personally ,
The learning:
There comes a point when you are soaked to the skin that you cannot get more wet if you tried and there is a weird pleasure in that. It is too absurd . You need not care any more; you surrender and even start to enjoy the rain and the fact that you can now return home feeling a sense of achievement ....getting something 'done ' even though it didn't need doing in the first place and being able to laugh at your own stupidity .
Back home , I notice that water has seeped into Bootsie and the inner sock is quite wet.
I'm also very tired by now after such an early start so I jump into bed for a 45 minute snooze.after which I set to for dinner ready for myself and three friends.
On the menu :
Cream of Jerusalem artichoke soup ( made from scratch , frozen and heated up. )
Warm Smoked Salmon with new potatoes.
Yoghurt dill and chive dressing
Huge mixed green salad.
Home made raspberry ice cream.
AND .. it turned out to be an absolutely DELIGHTFUL evening!
 night night x

My house guest has returned to the U.K.

Cooie , friends , readers , anybody .....

Hiya
You know you have been away forever when BCUK refuses to let you comment on a comment on one of your own posts
" please enter a valid email address "
WTF ??
All the time I thought it was the captcha's that I was getting wrong .
BOTHER
Anyway .. here I am
*looks around*
My house guest of 10 days has returned back to the UK . She's homeless now, having cleared and sold her house in Silverdale. A lot has gone to charity shops and the tip , she tells me , and a small storage room is chocker block full in one of those storage prisons costing a small fortune. I do hope she gets her perfect 1-2 bedroom flat in London.
Sadly , sale of our family home in Bradford has fallen through , yet again , for the THIRD time. ( Are we jinxed ?? ) we were so close this time. The prospective buyers had all the surveys done, and had got the deposit required , which unfortunately was sent to the wrong address and in the meantime they'd spent it on something else !!! 88| would you credit it ? I am laughing , but it is NOT funny.
So, Murphy and Spice , we might yet meet again in Idle . Please don't say 'break a leg ' ......
Have a great weekend , everyone . I hear fantastic summer weather is coming your way :)

Back from Blighty, Boots, Bootsie and sun specs

Hiya

What to do during a day of showers and bright periods?
Set to and defrost the freezer :)
And while it's defrosting ?
Catch up on emails , Holby City and Emmerdale
:)
Managed to do all my errands during a sunny spell and returned home with my new prescription sunglasses
*poses for photo in Photo Booth * ;)

I've been celebrating a lot since my return from Blghty
First week with foot brace 'Bootsy ' has flown by- now only 5 more weeks to go :)
We celebrated Grandson's birthday , the day after Bootsy and also the following day , which happened to be his real birthay. 3 years old ! How time flies.
After that , a couple of friends and I celebrated Princess Madeleine's Wedding to Christopher O'Neil , while sipping bubbly gossiping and commenting on what everyone was wearing and snacking on delightful nibbles , previously pepared.
That was last Saturday.
Sunday was a day of rest i.e. catch up on washing dishes and glasses
Monday was my birthday and also laundry day as well as food shopping for family dinner later that day . Being with Bootsy and crutch , meant two trips to the shops cramming as much as possible into rucksack since I had to leave both hands free.
Family arrived at 5 pm with gradnson repeating ' Happy Birthday Grandma '  several times ((bless xxx ) ) and then helped me unwrap the HUGE parcel his Mamma was carrying - a scanner - just what I wanted .
Toast Skagen with Champagne
Fresh asparagus lightly sautéd in butter with slivers of parmesan cheese
Oven baked salmon with chevre and honey glaze , new potatoes and mixed salad
Sticky chocolate cake with fress strwaberries and whipped cream for dessert.
*mira flops into bed exhausted *
What a lovely day though :)
Wednesday was Emil's graduation day ( Emil is the son of an dear friend of mine whom I've know all his life )
And yesterday ,my family took me out for a birthday meal and drinks at a posh retaurant with fabulous views of Stockholm. Great food, wine , ambiance and delightful company. Perfect . Absolutely perfect. I am so happy and grateful .
So.... Bottsy or no Bootsy ...life goes on .
Midsummmer and Summer Solstice next ..........

Bootsie

My foot

T'was when I was getting off t'bus in Idle , suddenly I find myself and bags of shopping on the pavement.
Turban clad bus driver lifts me up and a passenger gallantly escorts me home to my door.
:)
Half an hour later , rescue team bloggers Murph and Spice arrive .
Foot is back and blue all over and a bit swollen
Down in the kitchen , we polish off a bottle of well chilled bubbly and decide on a cunning plan; arnica and voltaren from the pharmacy and fish and chips from chippy up the road .
I 'm told to sit with my foot elevated.Exellent service, I must say , with tons of laughter at no extra cost :)
So ...fast forward after one flight, a 11 hour journey and week of usual mundane activities later , I finally take my friends advice and get someone look at afore mentioned foot.
10:30 Visit to G.P. who says I'm to go and have foot Xrayed.
Right so off I go to get the bus 412 to the hospital
11:45 I''m at the hospital , and after a 45 minute wait , I get my foot Xrayed - 8 pictures in various positions.
Another wait , and then doc tells me that there is a fracture and I have to wear this wonderful ski-boot-robot like contraption for SIX WEEKS
Oh joy
So there it is .
What an adventure eh ?

Boots the cat , Murphy and Spice , Fish and chips in Idle

Gosh , It's been a while

A month or so in fact .
The merry month of May has whizzed by.
Cherry blossoms have blossomed and now the lilacs are out in full bloom.
We've had some really warm days but then it's back to chillier woolly jumper days.
I've also been to Blighty and back and met the delightful duo ,Murphy and Spice !!!
What a treat it is to see old friends; when my spur of the moment decision to travel coincides miraculously  with other's plans.
I  arrived in Manchester on a Norwegian airlines flight which has free wi fi on board ( amazing ) to rain and wind but an excellent National Express coach connection to Bradford Interchange.
The 670 bus has just left so I treated my self to a taxi and arrived at our house in style , remembering the secret combination and retrieving keys from the key-safe.
Our family home is still on sale .  empty save the bare essentials and we are waiting for signing of the contarct dates.
Insert *cautious optimism *
But first a visit to the local chippy for some fish and chips - oh how I miss my fish and chips, salt and vinegar and scraps
A tour of the house next.Up in my bedroom which is up in the attic, standing by my bed I suddedenly hear a NIAOW ... and there it is again ..MIAOW .... I am startled. My brain says ' Does not compute ' How can there be a cat in a house that has been empty for 2 years apart from a few visits .
I look under the bed and there, large as life , is the face of a kitten staring at me one minute but POOF gone the next . Gone without a trace. I call out to it going from room to room but there is neither a sound nor trace of a cat.
I am slghtly freaked out - have I just seen a ghost cat ?
I leave a bowl of water out for it , in case it is a real cat.
A cat could have possible got in on Monday while my sister was here , but now it is Thursday - 3 days later.
*fast forward to Sunday morning *
I am sitting outside in the sun when Anne , our neighbour comes to enquire about her cat . Boots , who has been missing since Monday and have I seen her ?
WELL... I have seen a 'ghost cat ' I tell her - let's go and have a look .
Together we search the house, starting at the top and working our way down 4 floors and rooms, calling out for Boots .
Finally , in the cellar ktchen, we hear a MIAOW and then another
Where's it comming from ?
We locate it to a unit , Anne opens a drawer and OUT JUMPS A CAT  making a bold dash for the outside door , which is fortunately closed so it darts into the cupboard under the stairs instead, with Anne in hot pursuit .
BOOT  the mischievous kitten has been found, alive and well , with more energy than the pair of us put together after SIX DAYS alone in the house with out food or water !!!!
More to tell ... but will leave that for another day
